A record of the renovation of a
Wooden Drascombe Longboat 'Otter'

28th April 2008. Sprayhood and tent finished.

To lead the halyards back to the cockpit I inserted some pullies.

Finished sprayhood.

As the cockpit seats don't drain like a GRP Drascombe I had to make the sprayhood overlap the gunwales.

I made a little extension to the side deck to take the jib sheets and the sprayhood pivots.

I also painted inside the cabin.

The tent was much more difficult to make but here it is finished.

I used drainage rods to support the tent. The top support is soft so that it does not dig into my back whilst sailing.

A couple more views.

I have left the boat outside hoping that it will rain and test the tent and sprayhood.
